40. Get involved

When your viewers play a role in your ad, they are more likely to help spread the message.
However, engaging consumers with advertising is easier said than done.
One way to motivate them is to ask them for their opinion.
Obviously you'll hear viewpoints you don't want to hear, but that's part of the deal.
A second way is to ask people to be creative.
But no matter how you go about it, you always need to think about how participants will be rewarded.
A third is to get them to build something together, perhaps an inspiring project that is so big that it draws on talent from many parts of the world.
And the last option is to create a platform that allows one group of perhaps privileged people to help another not-so-privileged group.
Remember that the reward does not have to be material.
It can be an emotional reward, for example the satisfaction of helping another human being.
